Dartboards setup measurements

Do you play the game of darts?

Do you know there are certain setup measurements which you should follow? Many novice players, like you and me, are not aware of all the necessary rules and regulations of setting up this game. Therefore, here are the measurements for the setup so you can play darts the right way. The measurement of where and how far you can place a dartboard depends on the type of dart tip you opt for. Therefore, here are the measurements for steel tip darts.

Steel Tip Darts

  1. Dartboard height: When playing with steel tip darts the dartboard must be placed or hanged on the wall at 5 feet 8 inches or 173 centimetres from the ground to the centre of the dartboard.
  2. Throwing distance: The throwing distance or the distance from the place from where a player is supposed to throw a dart to the front of the dartboard must be exactly 7 feet 9 ¼ inches. That is 237 centimetres from the dartboard to the back of the throw line.
  3. Diagonal distance: The diagonal distance from the bullseye to the back of the throw line must be 9 feet 7 ½ inches or 293.4 centimetres for steel tip darts.

Soft Tip Darts

  1. Dartboard height: When playing with soft tip darts the dartboard must be placed or mounted on the wall at 5 feet 8 inches or 173 centimetres from the ground to the centre of the dartboard or bullseye.
  2. Throwing distance: The distance from the place from where a player is supposed to throw a dart to the front of the dartboard must be exactly 8 feet while using soft tip darts. That is 243.8 centimetres from the dartboard to the back of the throw line.
  3. Diagonal distance: The diagonal distance from the bullseye to the back of the throw line must be 9 feet 9 inches or 297.2 centimetres for soft tip darts.
